Bolton was a REJECTED nominee. Even the Republican "made men" in the Senate could NOT stomach John Bolton at the UN

If you would read the other comments, you might come to realize that the vast majority of Obama's blocked appointments has NEVER been allowed a vote.

Now follow me closely.   When it comes to a recess appointment that defies the will of the congress: versus the case of a recess appointment when the position has been languishing for a year (or more for many) and the minority in the Senate refuses to perform their sworn duties,

one of these thing is not like the other.  Does that help?

    •  Yep, Bolton had his up or down vote and LOST. (1+ / 0-)

Republicans aren't even chancing that with Obama's nominees, especially when they sail through a committee with a vote of 14-1.

It's bad policy whether or not it defies the will of the congress or is putatively in accord with it. It is bad policy save for an emergency. This particular spate of appointments will aggravate an already-crappy situation and will, IMO, come back to bite Democrats firmly in the ass.
