They will be dead by the time climate change makes the planet unbearable for humans.

How many generations will we be able to play this game?

Sadly, people don't really give a damn about their grandkids.

Most people are aware.  It's just that the environmental movement has never offered a way to actually increase baseline power output, make it price competitive, or deal with the manufacturing uses for petrolium.  They also frequently ignore the actual dangers of hydro, wind, geothermal, and other items and pretend they don't exist.

Or we get nonsensical "electric cars" where dealing with lion batteries is always ignored (no shock, that's common) as is the fact that only coal and nuclear would really boost up the electric grid to where it needs to be.

So no, global warming is happening it is man made and we'll pay for it in our lifetimes.  But till the environmental movement comes up with actual solutions I'm all for going along with fossil fuels and the power we need and all for both parties ignoring and marginalizing the movement.

let us know when we have a problem.

Asking an ecologist to make cleaner energy is like asking a mechanic to be your dentist.

Solutions must be figured out be engineers, governments, and society at large.

So far those sectors still have their fingers in their ears and don't want to hear the bad news.

complaining to his doctor for not finding a way for him keep eating red meat and butter with every meal. He's more teabagger than Democrat, in any event, waiting for a deus ex machina carbon capture gizmo to save him from his over-consumptive habits.
