    Certainly Cantor would parrot the line that this is something that should be taken care of on a local level, this means that places where people like Eric Cantor lives get bike paths, and people who don't have money don't get them. And people more likely to NEED them are people who have less money.  No different than pretty much any other Federal Program out there.

    But that's not what's going on here.

    Eric Cantor is not against using Federal dollars for ROADS. They aren't saying "Let's cut the transportation budget across the board across all programs." He wants to cut out just the enhancements. Why? Follow the money - roads = cars = gasoline = big oil. Cyclists and walkers do not lobby very $trongly.
