you can always drop me a line  :)  Not sure when I'll be able to buy a house (probably late spring/early summer), but I'll soon be in an  apartment in Kópavogur (I'm taking a break from packing right now  ;)  ).  Iceland is almost like a whole continent into itself, shrunk down.  The terrain is so diverse; for example, the south has one of the wettest spots in Europe while the north is a desert.  The country is just littered with waterfalls, too.  It's just so heart-wrenchingly beautiful.

If you plan ahead, tickets are cheap.  I can usually fly from Minneapolis to Keflavík for around $600 if I book enough in advance.  If you go, be sure to catch some concerts -- the Icelandic music scene is awesome.  :)

Did your husband ever get to get out of the Keflavík area?  Because that's probably the most geographically monotonous place in the country -- just one massive, giant lava flow.  It's kind of like landing on an alien planet.

they attended, mostly traditional music though.

I'd love to see it someday.  And no, my husband didn't get out of the local area sadly, but then again, it was 40 years ago!
