    Liberals railed against using these during the Bush years. Now they're defending them because Bush did it.

    •  Hypocricy aside, they either carry weight or (0+ / 0-)

      they do not.

      The argument here is: we don't trust the president. The argument is not: This is a radical change from our past.

      This all completely ignores that if a law is unconstitutional, it's unconstitutional and is non-binding.  The Prez CAN'T do an end run around the constitution. It's up to the Supreme Court to decide.

      This worry about detaining American citizens is hyperbolic.

      Hell...we already have 6.3 million american, mostly minorities, locked up under the guise of due process. That's the REAL concern here.
