    he's a wedge for the dems as well.  That's where he's dangerous.

    Why is it that a 3% tax increase for the wealthy is considered "socialism" and an 8% wage cut for the middle class is "doing your part"? MartyM

      This is where the discussions in these anti-Paul diaries go off the rails.

      The diarist is 100% correct about Paul.

      But the number of people on dKos who actually say nice things about Paul is very, very small.

      But people who use Paul as an occasion to raise questions about the Democrats get falsely accused of supporting Paul.

      Paul is already nearly insignificant. I hope he disappears from the national spotlight ASAP. But the issues of civil liberties and the place of the US in the world will remain areas in which both major parties are woefully inadequate.

      And just to clarify (as it seems one must): I don't think Paul is right on these issues at all. I do think he challenges the bipartisan consensus on them, however. And I think that bipartisan consensus is wrong.
