    Republicans use statistics and figures all the time to support their argument. Sure, they take them out of context and dress them up to inspire dedication to their views (how many times have we heard them cite the debt level or how much a government program will cost?). People love statistics, especially when they fit into their existing worldview.

    Basically, stats + persuasive phrasing that comports with people's lived experiences = winning over people to one's ideology. Liberals can tie these inequality stats to the broader liberal narrative of a truly equal opportunity society.
