I am glad to see that most of the comments are civil, I think that DKos had turned a corner.

    I vote for Democrats!

    •  DK is a better place lately (7+ / 0-)

Isn't it?  A year ago this diary would have been flamed to a greasy spot on the road.
I think now that Kossacks are getting a better look at the alternatives--the vile, clownish, hatemongering Republican field--people are realizing just how intelligent and compassionate and solid and mature Obama is in comparison.
Plus he's done a whole lot of great stuff in the face of unprecedented opposition and record filibustering:  http://pleasecutthecrap.typepad.com/...
Yes, I've posted that link before, and I'm going to keep "catapulting the propaganda," as Dubya put it.
And this one as well:  http://www.politifact.com/...

I caught a lot of flak (116 HRs) last year when I diarized that the constant drumbeat of Obama-bashing on DK was not helpful at all, and actually impeding progressive goals.  Many thought I wanted to stifle dissent, but that's not it at all.
The best path to more progressive government is to vote Republicans out of office.
So let's take back the House, so that the O-Man can really kick some serious ass!

Unfortunately, President Obama doesn't have time to read DK, so contact him here: The White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20500 (Postcards, not letters! Please give your email address) -- 202-456-1111 -- FAX: 202-456-2461

is a reflection of people seeing the light regarding Obama.  It is a reflection of the fact that adopting a respectful tone when expressing one's opinion will be responded to in kind (for the most part).  I appreciate that the diarist has the maturity to express his/her opinion without a childish need to have everyone else agree or refrain from challenging his/her position.  This is how civil discussion is conducted.

without taking the time to go back and shuffle through previous diaries, it seems to me that a few months ago any diary that praised Obama, no matter how civil its tone, was HRed and drew invective and derision, as has even this diary to some extent.  (See Punditus Maximus above, for instance, among others.)
I have been hoping we would have a Republican nominee soon, so that some of the scrutiny and negativity posted here could be redirected at our real enemy.

      •  It's all about the calendar (0+ / 0-)

and seeing the parade of horribles competing for the Republican nomination...with all his flaws, Obama looks amazing by comparison.
