I am curious to find out if Ryan and Wyden made a deal to support each other's legislation.

Ryan has his new "End Medicare as we know it" plan out that saw Wyden's support.

Wyden already has a plan out that rivals SOPA/PIPA that he has been pushing strongly.

    Hrm.  Curious.

    •  Wyden has always advocated ending public HC (0+ / 0-)

He's always been callign for an end up public healthcare programs.  To be fair when his own HC bill has always proposed is eliminating employer-based HC altogether (I think Medicare too) and moving everyone to regulated exchanges with subsidies but no public plan of any kind.

His vision for HCR has some good but some REALLY bad ideas.  The regulations and exchanges are nice and for the most part were included in the Affordable Healthcare Act that did pass.  Eliminating employer-based HC is also a good idea, but as expected was never seriously considered with Obama's HCR because of feared public backlash since it actually would have a big impact on health plans for most people.  The really bad part of Wyden's plan has always been his willingness to dismantle the public health insurance plans.  How does he think cost control will happen with strictly private plans "competing"?
