  •  Romney is touting (7+ / 0-)

his venture capital involvement in Staples as a huge piece of that 100k jobs he supposedly ''created''. They now have 90k employees, long after he has been out of the picture.

But, does a retail chain like Staples really create jobs?
If they never were invented, those products would be being sold by other, maybe existing stores,or expanded operations among existing companies.

Manufacturuing TV's where they were not doing it before, now that is really creating new jobs.

I do not think Romney can claim he ''created'' a single fricking job. But he did close plants and send those jobs overseas.

retail jobs count, I don't know that Romney gets credit for them, specificaly becuase his 100k number is based on current figures, not when he was actively working with Bain.

at the same time, they are 100k low paying jobs. I'v never seen a retail job that pays a wage I'd be happy with, or that I could live comfortably on without overtime. and while his company, which he is no longer a part of (just taking an exorbitant salary from), may have created 100k low paying jobs to ensure those lucky american's remain just this side of real poverty, we know for a fact that while he was working at bain he shipped many, many high paying jobs overseas for the sole purpose of enriching himself.
