    they campaign on these issues. And their donors would love to destroy the social safety net to increase their profits. And those are many of the same donors who give to the democrats.

    But does the average republican voter want to end unemployment benefits, social security and medicare?


    Remember the sign that said "Keep the government out of our medicare?"

    •  RIght. That's why we Need to draw a line between (3+ / 0-)

      Republican leadership and Republicans.

      Then we need to throw in the idea that extending civil rights to more people is somehow detrimental to America, but denying people the right to vote is a good thing.

      While 'destroy America' is hyperbolic, we need to look at both sides. We don't want to create a false equivalence between expanding our rights, and doing harm to those of us in need.

      I used to make a point of saying "Republican leadership"
      I'll start doing that again.

      Please Vote for the Democratic nominee for President in 2012.
