  •  I can see why they're annoyed (4.00)
Imagine being one of these GOP Congresscritters or Senators.  The president is asking you to risk losing your seat by voting for his unpopular initiative.  You have to appear in front of hostile crowds to talk them into supporting privatization, and they yell at you a lot.  Then you see President Bush talking to a fawning handpicked audience, pretending it's easy and your problems aren't even real.
    •  Point taken. However, (none)
congresscritters (Love that one!  OK if I use it?) and Senators will be running for re-election and dubya won't.  Sure as hell won't help them in O6!

Seems to me if a congresscritter or Senator is too much of a wimp to actually represent his/her district, he/she should be voted out of office.  I mean, that is what he/she was elected to do, not score brownie points by kissing dubya's butt.

The only second term dubya deserves is 20 to life!

I didn't come up with "Congresscritters"; it arose somewhere in the dKos hive mind.

There are complicated considerations in play here.  If kissing some Wbutt will get you the new post office for your district, maybe you kiss the Wbutt.    Given how bad privatization is, this is clearly the wrong choice, but I can see how a conscientious person would sometimes give in to the party leadership.

(I did come up with Wbutt, though it's not as good as Congresscritter.)
