      ..NYT understands perfectly sarcasm.

      I can think of nothing more sarcastic than a contributor to a major American newspaper going on-line & asking people if his newspaper should tell the truth.

      It's impossible to get more sarcastic than that.

      When Fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in excess body fat and carrying a misspelled sign.

        For sh*ts and giggles? No one has answered that.  He mentioned an existential crisis at the paper. Also sarcasm?

        I'm willing to be convinced, but if you say a major public editor is doing this for fun, and April is nowhere close, then I need a rationale.
