  •  Instinct-driven people, of which Romney (19+ / 0-)

is apparently one, are prone to letting their instincts turn into obsessions, or, as the churches used to say, "the seven deadly sins" -- deadly because, in the long run, self-defeating.

So, in an effort to preempt the issue, Romney's handlers have obviously advised that he address his obsessions head on.  Then, when someone else brings them up, he can call it "retaliation" or some such.

    Anyway, the seven deadlies are:

    wrath
    pride
    greed
    sloth
    gluttony
    lust
    envy

Greed is obviously manifest in Romney's accumulation of dollars, mostly at someone else's expense (a wrathful rather than a creative attitude).  Pride is definitely evidenced by his continual quest for high public office, even when nobody really wants him and he has no practical skills (except counting money?). Envy, one suspects grows out of frustrated efforts to imitate or match the achievements of another. So, he's deluding himself that he's favored by the American people and Obama is not--a delusion that's self-defeating.
