  •  This is really bizarre: (24+ / 0-)
Instead, we believe the most urgent peril is this: forcing or pressuring both individuals and religious organizations—throughout their operations, well beyond religious ceremonies—to treat same-sex sexual conduct as the moral equivalent of marital sexual conduct.
They're being compelled in just a couple states to treat couples as legally equivalent.

I don't even know what treating people as morally equivalent or inequivalent means?

and law is based on the Ten Commandments.  In NH a couple of bills require biology teachers to identify the religion of each originator of every theory and to tell the classes who were atheists and every future law has to reference the Magna Carta in order to be presented for consideration

    •  That statement is totally fucked up (2+ / 0-)

The equivalency is not between "same-sex sexual conduct" and "maritial sexual conduct."  The impact of legalizing same-sex marriage would be to put same-sex sex and non-same-sex sex on the same plane:  some would be marital, and some would not be marital.

Presumably, they like marital sex and don't like nonmarital sex.  So what exactly is the problem with making some same-sex sex marital sex, which they like?
