  •  So many things in the 14th (7+ / 0-)

    that the wingers can't stand. Citizenship by birth, equal protection for all persons (not just citizens), due process for all persons (not just citizens), etc And I'm sure the distinction between persons and citizens in the amendment was intentional - there were many immigrants in the Union Army, heck, there were several divisions that were run in German.
