Dylan is not a fattie.  He's slinky and splays out. However, he does think he's never been fed and is oh so grateful each time he sees that he's able to wake you on a Sunday for "fud".  But we assure him he'll always have nutrious food but will not be allowed to get chunky.

At the shelter, I thought he was a little button of blackness.  But as you see, he's now very open, laid back and very very very secure in every aspect of his new life.  It only took a few hours for him to realize that this was his forever home.

My thoughts to Sally, her cats and her missing birds.  Please update us when you can.  xoxo

      •  Hard trying to capture a black beauty (7+ / 0-)

        on camera. :)

I can't believe no one adopted him for over 5 years!!! He is fantastic.

The shelter volunteers coudln't either.  He wasn't abused or even 'old"... just that black cats don't get adopted quicklly.

I've adopted 3 black cats since married.

My daughter does her damndest to talk her friends out of "getting a kitten" and tries to get them to adopt an older cat.  They have so much to give and offer.

Dylan is riiiight here.  Cats - the orignal laptops. :)

Statistically are much less likely to be rescued from a shelter by a rescue or to be adopted from a rescue.  Sometimes I believe we really aren't that far from burning witches.

        •  My black kitty, see above, is the sweetest coolest (6+ / 0-)

cat ever. Of course I think that of all of them, but Leena is awesomely self-possessed and sweet. When we get home, she comes yowing up to the car to greet us. She goes outdoors but has a range near the house. She has a fabulous, chocolaty purr that you want to hear forever.

Sophie the dog is jealous as a cat over Leena, and Leena thinks Sophie is the greatest thing on four paws. She is big on cleaning Sophie's ears and forehead. In a complete role reversal, my beautiful, queenly wozzle Sophie has a devoted pootie as her servant and plaything.

cat either of us has ever known going all the way back to our childhoods, and that's a LONG time since I'll be 65 in a few months and my husband just turned 71.

Sheesh, I'm going to have to learn how to post pics so I can show off our little sweeties. We have lots of good pics.

well-loved fur friends. There is supposed to be a new kos photo feature that is easy to use. I have used flickr and photobucket in the past. The above is from photobucket.
