  •  Dang! (and an idea) (10+ / 0-)

I think my only copy of AWIT went in my last donation to a local homeless shelter just before I got married. Thank goodness for the Kindle!

I loved the book. I think this might be a good Readers and Book Lovers' diary series: the books we loved or maybe were forced to read, but wound up loving anyway) as kids, but re-reading them as adults. How have they changed, or how have our outlooks on them changed? Might be fun. Some possibilities:

    The Phantom Tollbooth
    The Giver
    Where the Sidewalk Ends
    Bridge to Terabithia
    The Wizard of Oz
Danny the Champion of the World
    Charlotte's Web
    Stuart Little
    The Indian in the Cupboard
    Number the Stars

Those are just a few of the possibilities. It's always fun to look back on our childhoods, and the stories that fueled our imaginations.

    •  Even if series: Boxcar Children, Nancy Drew (0+ / 0-)

What could be more romantic and inspiring than children living by themselves (in a boxcar or wherever!) And Nancy Drew, a girl who was solving mysteries for adults.
