I believe we here should be looking at these retirements (defections) in an entirely different light.

I don't care how "Red" a district may be. They also have Blue folks in them, who should be working, right now, to provide a strong Progressive Candidate who will run a hard and honest campaign and not allow presumptions of district color to intimidate them out of running. That's ludicrous--especially now.

If our heroes in Wisconsin have something to tell us today, it is that citizens trump political color. We should honor their efforts where we live, run and elect strong and better Progressives to carry on the peoples' business of reclaiming democracy in America, wherever the opportunity affords itself.

this is a red district.  This is like running a progressive against Fitzgerald.

19, D, new CA-18 (home) new CA-13 (college). Economic liberal, social libertarian, fiscal conservative. Put your age and CD here :) -.5.38, -3.23

I'd see that as a distinct possibility for a solid win, if the right candidate were identified and supported.
