    candidates' towns, remember this:  John Hall hailed from Dover Plains, population 2072, when he defeated a 7-term incumbent Republican.  We had a spirited primary with as many as 6 candidates running at one point in 2006.   And, they all united behind Hall either primary night or the next morning.

    Ultimately, the only thing that matters with respect to preserving choice is who will be nominating the next Supreme Court Justices.

      And I remember the primary well. Though I think John Hall, thanks to his music career, probably had a higher public profile than your average first-time candidate.

        and presentation to groups that clinched the deal (the candidates did quite a number of group candidate forums (fora?) throughout the spring, and he was probably the most effective).  

        Ultimately, the only thing that matters with respect to preserving choice is who will be nominating the next Supreme Court Justices.
