they are intentionally refusing to hire people in the hope that the economy will be terrible in November!

My wife and I run a struggling small business.  We have hired a few people recently because we think it will help us make money.  I don't believe that any serious business would refuse to hire people for one second if they thought that they would make more money by hiring them.

I think that manufacturing jobs have moved overseas because labor costs are lower there.  I don't know how long it will take for labor costs to move more into balance, and I don't like to think about what America will look like when they do.  In truth, I think that is inevitable.  Some politicians don't want to do anything about that, and the rest can't do anything about that.

      •  that's what the Tea Potty asked them to do (0+ / 0-)
I, an American small business owner, part of the class that produces the vast majority of real, wealth producing jobs in this country, hereby resolve that I will not hire a single person until this war against business and my country is stopped.

        •  Yes some Tea Party fool said that. (0+ / 0-)

My point is that no business would do that if they thought it would cost them money.

          •  i hear you saying you think no rational person (0+ / 0-)

would do that, but some folks are willing to lose money now if it will get them a greater benefit later, and that is how they are framing it.

i suppose it is no different than making a sizeable contribution to the candidate you hope will win the election.  it costs you money now, but if the right guy gets in and lowers your taxes or passes some law that you believe will help your business even more then apparently the short term sacrifice is worth it.
