Everyone knows "At Last" and "I'D Rather Go Blind" (for good reason, they're both excellent!) but what I love about Etta is the seemingly endless depths of her amazing versatility -

I particularly liked her version of Otis Redding's "I've Got Dreams To Remember"

"Let's Burn Down the Cornfield" (with Lowell George on slide - smooooth)

"Just A Little Bit" & "Almost Persuaded" are two the the best tracks to EVER come out of Muscle Shoals.

"Tough Lover" is as good a rave up as any rock 'n' rollabilly song ever yakety saxed.

Her version of "Piece OF My Heart" still makes me shiver

Howlin' Wolf must have been purring when she did "Smokestack Lightnin'"

"Misty Blue" & "Let Me Down Easy" are very probably the two perfect songs to wrap up a stellar career.

Thank you for your years of music making and for sharing your joy & pain, love and respect for this amazing person.

      I love them all.

          I figured :-)

I hope the joy of the years you spent with Etta can temper the profound loss and sadness you're going through.

Let the community know if/when you're playing NYC, I'll swing by to listen to you "connect the dots" (my favorite Steve Cropper saying)
