    ...of citizens is likely to do whatever the hell it wants. We look for consistency, when really all they are looking at is the result. They work backwards from there, and not forwards from a given legal principle.

      That's actually consistent. The Court has long held corporations as "legal persons"--this was just the latest iteration of that. I know Kossacks, and Americans more broadly, saw that as a new thing, it actually wasn't. It goes back at least 100 years in our jurisprudence, maybe longer.

      Should it? No, but it's going to require a constitutional amendment to overturn.

      But they were consistent in that case.

        The case had to do with taxation of railroads, but this was the case that came to epitomize "corporate personhood."
