    of money defending Shuler. I doubt we would spend any money if he left. It would likely be written off I think.

    They say that Dentists have the highest suicide rates of all professions. Adding in the fact that I am a Democrat in Indiana to that ratio then it is probably a miracle that I am still alive.

    •  If Shuler pulled out of the NC-11 race now (5+ / 0-)

      less than 3 weeks before filing opens, Democrats would have trouble fielding a viable candidate and may end up with 'Some Dude'. Not a good prospect for holding onto what is now the reddest district in NC.

      •  Yeah, and even if they did find a (6+ / 0-)

        halfway decent recruit I seriously doubt they would be able to hold it. I agree a some dude is most likely if Shuler switches races. Shuler has a shot here, but its still an R tilting race I think.
