    peoples of the Diomedes islands? They were first divided through the cold war, one island belonging to Russia, the other to the US and I remember an interview with one of the Native inhabitants of the US island saying that all Natives on the Russian side were transported to siberian labor camps, leaving the island completely deserted. I don't know if on the US side similar deportations had happened to mainland camps as well.
