    am so glad we did.  I was brought to tears by their patriotism and determination.  The racism from the Army saddened me, but worse is what happened when they came back home to the South and Jim Crow era was in full effect.  Throughout the film, I thought about the disrespect they would face when they returned to Memphis, Atlanta, Birmingham, Chattanooga and all over the South.

    I just bought the book The Warmth of Other Suns: the epic story of America's Great Migration   by Isabel Wilkerson.  I hope this book becomes a movie, too.

      to have a copy so that they can have heroes that look like they do, just like every other white American has had since the war.  Native Americans, Asian Americans all deserve the same.  We all need heroes to emulate.
