    Have you read River of Darkness by Rennie Airth? It covers the same between-the-wars time period as the others. So does Elizabeth Speller's The Return of Captain John Emmett.

    A cozy series that goes back to pre-WWI times is the Daisy Dalrymple set of books by Carola Dunn. Here's a list of others that may be a bit more Edwardian: http://www.cozy-mystery.com/...

    And you know. I'm surprised that Simon Brett, whose first series featured boozy actor Charles Paris, doesn't have something set in this era. Or maybe he does and I haven't paid attention.
