    lower the age of retirement (60?).  More money into the program, and younger generations can enter the job workplace when many retire sooner, than later.  

    Medicare issue can be fixed by having everyone 55 and older be on Medicare, and those under 55, Medicare plus 5 - 10% premium.  This would also factor in to resolving the problem of health care for all.  Add to that negotiated prescription drug pricing, and you have the basics of a sound program.  Of course fraud needs to be addressed and all fifty states must have standardized doctor reimbursements.  The private insurance market can provide supplemental insurance as they do now, as Medicare isn't the total package that many feel comfortable with.
