  •  I used to teach a class (11+ / 0-)

    on the juvenile court act for police officers.  My portion of the course dealt primarily with abuse and neglect.  I spent a lot of time on "things aren't always what they seem." For example, I pointed out that my kid with tourette, if pulled over, might say something friendly like "shut up a**hole Motherf*cker" and that as a parent i was terrified what would happen in such an event.  It always got a laugh, but I hope I got the point across as well.

    (Pleased to report that the kid has found other ways to channel his tics)
