  •  She can do that by walking down (28+ / 0-)

onto the streets and speaking calmly with the citizens of Oakland.

Any bets that she'll even attempt it?

      •  You must be dearly loved (4+ / 0-)

to have lived so long and yet not be made watchful against manipulative kindness.

Despite the convenient melodrama of her rejection by us ruffians, she has enough advisors and schedulers and runners to have worked out a successful visit if she had wanted a different result.

        •  Well yes,... (3+ / 0-)

...and I just still think she is well out of her league, which probably means she has no qualifications for being mayor in the first place ...

and i don't know if dellums or brown or any others would have done any better...

Because the entire system is in Lock Down!

          Which brings us right back to the whole idea of OWS in the first place.  &xC5;

It is a Catch 22, a double bind, a no way out "Hotel California", forget it, give up, there's no way out other than to check in to "Arbeit Macht Frei " and say, "Ja. Ja, Ja."

In the meantime, I cannot accept what seems to me to be a blanket condemnation of Jean Quan.  I can criticize her a bunch, but she is not alone in responsibility.

And it's definitely OT, but I must simply state to you that  I am indeed not universally loved.  I am 90% condemned for my negative attitude & beliefs in my senior community apartment  where I am so marginalized that I no longer go into our common spaces.

I live in a senior community where it is an absolute requirement to be a rosy glasses pollyanna rose gardener.  And if anyone, you, or anyone else refuses to pledge allegiance to the absolute perfection of our world, our country, and everything else, you will be severely PUNISHED!

I am sorry to have to tell, macdust, that I am in no way "loved" by my community.  In fact I am ostricized, marginalized, and told not to speak!!!

You can either hear this, or not.  I feel no need to state this any further.

...S. Bryan Wilson when the US Navy train ran over him on Sep 1 1981, and watched as that US Navy train amputated his leg/legs...

SO...you may not accuse me of having lived in a protective community which shielded me from reality.  You are far, far, far from the truth.

I tried to be tolerant and ro respond to you with consideration and respect.  But you have blown that now,  I am far beyond your ability to comprehend.

I hope you will respond to this/me with respect, and I will respond with the same.  But, if you cannot respond in kind to that, if you must still find the need to deminish me,  well...I probably won't say anything more.

          •  The admiration was not facetious (0+ / 0-)

although I can tell now how it sounded so.

You could never be mistaken for one who is shielded from reality, not even by an idiot like me.

But remarkably, you seem not calloused over with suspicion of the motives of others.

That you are far beyond my ability to comprehend I acknowledge. It puts you in good company. I wish I could could say you are one of the few, but it's a big crowd. Even I'm in it.
