after he wins American Idol singing "America the Beautiful."
If ever there was a need for a "cone of silence" that was it.

Romney's rendition reminded me of the scene in "Red Dawn" when the Americans about to be shot for their resistance activities screeched it in a discordant effluence of shrieks while standing before a firing squad.  It was so bad you wanted them to dispense with "Ready" and "aim."  The Wolverines were watching helplessly from a nearby mountain.  If they had had any regard for the song or for music in general, they would have shot the banshees themselves.

Now that's just to illustrate how bad it was; don't anyone accuse me of advocating violence against Romney.  How can you but pity a cold, limp noodle?

No, lowering of a giant soundproof cone would have been more than sufficient to protect the ears of the innocent.

What'd the devil give you for your soul, Tommy? He taught me to play this here guitar REAL good. Oh son, for that you traded your everlastin' soul? Well, I wuddn' usin' it.
