    like "Bounce" are great for repelling bugs.  Not just mosquitoes but gnats, flies....pretty much anything that bites.

    My elderly neighbor pins them to the shoulders of her blouse and swears by them.  For the last few years, I've stuck one in the band of my straw work hat.  Strangely, and I won't use them in the dryer, but in the hat they work like a charm.

      Literally. Same compound.

      Off topic, but consider if you really want to do your drying in pesticides. Better to crumble a sheet of aluminum foil & add to dryer. Nontoxic and renewable.

      OK, back to topic at hand.

        that they're the same compounds.  It does seem to me to be a more responsible use of a bad actor than spreading it about the environment.

        I use nubby little plastic dryer balls to accomplish the same thing.  And one of my dogs loves them as indestructible chew toys.  When I use the dryer at all.  If the temp. is above 25 degrees everything goes on the line.
