    They'd invest in products that attract doctors, rather than products that attract patients.

    It sure would help if the FDA made it easier and less expensive to get drugs on the market. And if we had "free trade" with respect to drugs. Competition is a good thing, and the government is essentially colluding with these massive companies to prevent it. This is one of the instances where the free-market people have the right idea (and the Republican Party has the wrong idea).
