    And it's definitely part of the problem. Less than 2% of Americans will achieve the goal of becoming a millionaire. Yet 20% of them are convinced they'll be in that 2%. And that delusion is a powerful drug. And they want to protect their possible future self's from those evil taxes no matter how remote the chance is they'll get there.

      People just don't get that their chances of becoming "a millionaire", slim as they are, are better if there are more people in the group below that. And so on.
      Let alone the fact that those voting this way are directly impoverishing themselves.
