  •  Good god, blue dogs are dinos, not democrats (0+ / 0-)

50 state strategy, yes; running "democrats" in red districts who will undermine democratic legislation when they enter office is not part of an ultimately winning strategy.

I've posted it elsewhere:  what good does it do progressives if pelosi gets the gavel, but her own caucus undermines progressive legislation and cheerleads republican obstructionism?

    Again:  wake up.

I think I'd rather stay asleep and actually have a chance at returning to the majority.  The UK Labour party tried your strategy in the '80s.

a nominally Democratic House where progressive legislation is watered down by some Blue Dogs than a Republican one where Tea Party written bullshit sails to the floor nearly unimpeded.

You can complain all you want to about how the Pelosi led House fell short in some ways, but a comparison of its record to the Boehner/Cantor, Hastert/DeLay, or Gingrich/Armey Houses should speak for itself.

Maybe Shuler wasn't worth spending much effort on even if he were running.  Fine, let's look for other targets.  But let's not fool ourselves into thinking that we can elect a House with 219 Alan Graysons or Darcy Burners.  (Or if we can, please list those 219+ districts.)
