    They've oversold mammography to the detriment of women and the benefit of the cancer industrial complex. They should be spending their money on research grants to find better treatments.

      came out - you know, the ones that were actually based on science? - two groups were the first and loudest to get up in arms about it: the American College of Radiology and the Komen Foundation. (Also the American Cancer Society.)

      That right there should have told people something. They had the most to lose; radiologists for obvious reasons (mammography and repeat scans are their cash cows) and the Komen foundation because their goal is to keep scaring people to death about breast cancer to keep the money coming in.

      They've been very successful, too. At least until recently, and probably still, the vast majority of people believe breast cancer is the number one killer of women. It's actually down the list, and heart disease is number one.
