I'm so friggin sick of their pinkification of America. After a while, that stuff just gets to be a little much.

    Screw them.

A lot of people were uncomfortable with their marketing and their sheer domination of the market — and the fact that they treated cancer survivors and their family and friends as a "market" to begin with. All of that came bursting out with their stupid move this week, and that genie isn't going back in the bottle.

They've done irreparable damage to their brand, and I'm not at all displeased about that to say the least.

I've always felt that there was something very creepy about how they've "marketed" people that have had this disease. I think it's sick.

And the way they literally turn everything pink for several weeks every year is incredibly intrusive and for me especially nauseating. I think it undercuts and diminishes their message and goals. More is not always better.

I'm sure there are a lot of breast cancer survivors who don't want it shouted from the rooftops that they've had or have breast cancer. It's a very personal and private matter for most individuals, and to thrust these people and the disease into the spotlight like Komen does is a very mixed bag at best.
