  •  Texas.... I'm a native Texan, 54 years old and (7+ / 0-)

I know the climate for about the eastern half of the state - roughly San Antonio to Fort Worth and over to the Gulf and the Sabine.  From about the late '80s to the present, the winters have fluctuated wildly, with some unprecedented brutal winters to winters with almost no freezing temperatures.  Summers, it seems, have gotten progressively hotter.  People used to not necessarily look forward to Texas summers but they now fear them, as they have become almost unbearable.  In addition, several species of birds and other animals have slowly migrated north.  We now routinely see white winged doves as far north as Dallas and, 30 years ago, white winged doves were almost exclusively a bird found in deep south Texas near the border.

I now have no doubt that the climate is changing.  I'm not a scientist but it seems as though it is now changing rapidly.  Animals sense it and many ranchers, farmers, hunters, and small town folks of all political and religious persuasions are convinced that it is changing and has changed significantly during the last 20 years.

These are the days of swine and poses.
