  •  If you are going to have a cancer (4+ / 0-)

then squamous cell is a good one to have. I have had one removed from my left hand and no further treatment necessary. Also had several basel (basil)? cell cancers removed from my body, various places, no further treatment required, so your wife is lucky the diagnosis is of the skin cancer type, instead of a more metastic tumor inside her body. Best wishes, thoughts and prayers for a full, speedy recovery. Oh, and fuck cancer and all those who profit from it.

She did make a full recovery and was cancer free for five years. No scares after that.

However, she fell in the bathroom last August 28 and broke five ribs. She developed a massive hemothorax and died on September 17. She fell only nine days after our 55th anniversary.

She was a cancer nurse, and a damn good one. I will write her story one day soon, when I am able. Last year was not a good one at our house. I wrote a diary about my grandson two weeks ago, on what would have been his 18th birthday. Ewing's sarcoma took him from us.
