while violence is inevitable and ongoing, we should be doing what we can to stop it. it's easy to justify it by saying to ourselves that we are meeting violence with violence, but it would be far better if we were able to hold ourselves to a higher standard and break the cycle.

You can't break the cycle, you'll only get crushed.

They want their power (which is also their money), unless they and their property are under physical threat they have no reason to give it up, and every reason to sit back and laugh.

Fear is the best weapon. I've yet to see anything from OWS other than BB that gives a sense that society may rise up and get them. It's only BB and the more violent aspects that seem to hint this movement is at all serious.

Until there is more of that, they can just write off the drum circles and holding hands as a non serious movement and a joke that poses no threat to them, and they'd be correct.

...let it come from the right, which will only serve to mobilize the masses in our support, democratically, electorally.

But if the masses perceive that we are deliberately bringing or provoking the violence, the opposite will occur.

You want civil war? It will never come from the left.

Indeed, historically, it ALWAYS comes from the Right, to prevent democracy...and you don't have to bait and provoke it, like the undercover cops want you to do.

All you have to do is materially threaten to actually seize the power, democratically, electorally, and the Right will soon precipitate civil war...and Then you'll get your sick need and desire for violence fulfilled, til you puke from it.

In case you haven't noticed, it's the Right calling for political assassination, mass murder and civil war, presently...and certainly not the Left.

By emulating the Right, and doing exactly what They want, with all the "revolutionary insurrectionary" posturing, you are only serving THEIR interests, NOT the interests of the masses, who deliberately and consciously chose to REJECT both Right wing line, And purported left electoral boycott and splitting lines, to step up and seize the power, for real, by electing Obama and Democratic Majorities (such as they were) in '08.

Alas, remnant Right wing majorities, with all those Blue Dog ilk stil in there, prevailed, Just Barely, producing less than optimal results...it's not over, yet.

        The struggle continues.

        Bring the Better Democrats!

All Out for the Primaries, and November!

Democracy is the most fundamental revolutionary principle.
