    •  Those urges are long past. (3+ / 0-)

Back before the internet when my news on politics was filtered through the local Republican-controlled newspapeer, I got suckered in by Kasich's posturing on the thousand dollar hammers and toilet seats at the Pentagon. A poor excuse, I know!

My last vote for a Republican was Voinovich in '04-- and I actually think that I helped persuade him to vote to end DADT, so I can defend that vote on at least some level :-) Another case of a weak Dem challenger where the election was not going to turn on my vote. I was hoping that Voinovich would be a moderating influence on the Republican Party, but that obviously did not come to pass. I can see no scenario where I will vote for any Republican above dog-catcher in the foreseeable future.

Reagan administration, and disappeared in the Clinton administration. Clinton had virtually none of that sort of thing, and then along comes Bush Manchild, and $8.6B cash started to disappear from the Iraqi desert. Interesting.

Now it's Kasich's turn to waste barrel-fulls of the taxpayer's dollars by giving it away with a kiss to his crony friends.

Well, I used to vote for the occasional (very occasional) GOP candidate too, but I learned my lesson for all time in 2000. Quite simply, I did due diligence and found out what was really going, and it was an eye-popper.

        A permanent one.
