  •  There's a TV screen in the lab (1+ / 0-)

at our local medical clinic, but all they show are kid's movies on DVD -- during one long wait with my mom-in-law, I got to see almost all of The Incredibles, and on another visit it was Finding Nemo. (The clinic also has free WiFi for patients, which is especially good in the lab because it's underground and 3G access is spotty.)

    •  Also local hospitals as well as the big hospitals (0+ / 0-)

like Hershey and Geisinger have computer areas too where if a person does not have their computer or does not have an tablet or smart phone...can use computers provided there. Guests of patients or the patients themselves have access to computers on most floors of the hospital. We saw that in 2002 when visiting my dad and a few friends who were hospitalized. And in 2002, there were just desktops provided but there was internet service provided. So considering that was a decade ago, they have really advanced those services too.
