  •  The Republican Party is heading for a fall. (11+ / 0-)

"Rational" Republicans would love to maintain control, but the Limbaugh/Palin wing has pretty much laid claim to the direction and the ideology of the party, and their views are far from rational.
These diehards do not accept the social change that America has been undergoing for the past fifty years or so, and they do not accept objective reality, choosing instead to create their own "reality" and to live there.
As such, they can't possibly survive the tide which is beginning to wash over them, and it looks like they'll take the GOP down with them.

At some point there will just have to be a new political alignment which will better fit the realities of the American population.

I would even say eighty years, the time since the election of FDR and the start of the New Deal. In the eyes of the far right, there has been no legitimate version of this country since the election of 1932. And what their own repulsive insanity doesn't accomplish, generational change will.

A generation from now, the vast population of middle-aged and elderly white conservatives will have been replaced by a cohort brought up in economic disillusionment for whom diversity is the norm. Almost everyone alive will look back on this age with disbelief, while the impotent, ever shrinking rump of the conservative movement wallows in bitterness.

Despite the gargantuan problems we face, I believe we are entering the most exciting, creative period in American History.

Republic party. Toxic poison is all he has contributed. P.S. I love calling them the "Republic" party just like they call us the "Democrat" party.

Republicans only care about themselves, their money, & their power.
