for a minute I'm not.  I'm sexist about anyone without a uterus pontificating about how I live with my uterus.

I'm equally unhappy with women who shifted the entire women's rights movement, reborn in the '60's and 70's, into a single-issue battle: abortion or not.

We wouldn't have needed a Lily Ledbetter Act in 2009 if women's human rights hadn't been ignored for 40 years because the only issue became forced birth vs choice.  We wouldn't be having a discussion about birth control at all if women had banded together to prevent unwanted pregnancies, to demand affordable and competent child care, to insist on professional mother status with accompanying benefits for women who chose to stay home and work, to insist that women achieve salary parity.  And that's the tip of the tip of the iceberg.

I'm not looking for a love that will lift me up and carry me away. A love that will stroll alongside and make a few amusing comments will suffice.
