  •  I took one of my college roommates for (10+ / 0-)

An abortion in the early 80's.  It was, naturally, during finals week, and her boyfriend had a final that he couldn't miss. They were both so heartbroken, but doing the best the could, given their circumstances.  He was able to get there just in time and held her hand the whole time.   They married after 3 years, and had 2 very much loved and wanted children.  They're still married and are grandparents now.   Another college roommate had a ectopic pregnancy several years later with her husband, had to have an abortion.  They tried again a year later, and she had another ectopic pregnancy, and another abortion, and the loss of her fertility.  Her husband left not long after.
Life is hard enough to figure out how to cope and what's best.  In a perfect world these decisions wouldn't have to be made.  But we don't live in a perfect world, do we?  I just fail to understand people hell bent on making a less than perfect world into hell on earth for the sake of ideology.  I always thought the purpose of being on earth was to make it better, or at least less awful.
