this has nothing to do with religion or morality, and everything to do with business. if people are able to plan when they want to have children, this reduces the potential avaliable pool of low paid (close to slave) labor. business thrives when they can pay their employees next to nothing. the recent recession has come close to providing this environment, but it won't last forever.  to ensure a future of unskilled, low-wage serfs, unfettered pregnany must abound. to do otherwise would give every company in the country cause to relocate to india or china.

getting knocked up, it's the patriotic thing to do!

Values they can sell this pap to the masses. However, Conservatives are losing and will continue to lose the culture wars as the message is being served by hypocrites like Newt, Sarah Palin, and the entire catalogue of C Street adulterers. The public has rejected Bristol Palin as an abstinence spokesmodel and sent her packing back to obscurity in Alaska. The general public has rejected Sarah Palin, ending her reality tv career, and reducing her to sporadic appearances on Fox and CPAC. And by embracing Newt as their standard bearer, the buckle of the Bible Belt, South Carolina, has diminished its previous influence in Republican politics and made a mockery of their "values" by proving even they don't buy what they are shoveling. They have been trying for three decades to overturn Roe, and while they diminished it, it is still legal to have an abortion. They are losing the Gay Marriage battle, state by state--- just as miscenegation laws were defeated.  They keep trying to defund Planned Parenthood, but are awakening a giant in the process-- women and young voters. And the contraception debate will, I believe, bury them.
