      I would love to know more. I keep running into people, students, teachers and other people who have this personal and visceral connection to the great exodus out of Germany and Europe between the wars, and I am fascinated by the Weimar period there. Maybe we should start a group...

      I have a connection too, but my family intentionally "lost" the stories in an attempt to get over the whole episode and become Americanized, I assume. I have had to "recover" them in some small way using historical and cultural reading.
