    He's sincere. He speaks about reviving manufacturing. He's obviously devoted to his huge family. I think both those things are in his favor in a general election.

    The moral sanctimony is repulsive to me, but I wonder how it comes off to the larger public.

      further, he will bring out the wingnut base and do better among the white working class.  Romney will be unable to do that, hurting not only him but the GOP ticket downballot.

      I want Romney to be the nominee, but only after a really bruising primary where he limps to the finish line.  So I'll root for Santorum for the time being.

      Santorum is far more genuine and sincere in his beliefs than Newt or Mitt. In the general, I dont know.

      Obama is likable, seems devoted to his family, and  talks about reviving manufacturing(and can actually point to data suggesting a comeback).

      I think the moral sanctimony is a big turn off in the general.
