  •  We should be worried about 64% fav (5+ / 0-)

I know we mock the hell out of Santorum, but a guy who can be pretty charming and high favorables is a threat I think.

Romney will try to crush him on TV, but I don't think he'll be able to drive his unfavorables up as much as he was against Gingrich.

I know this is a touch paranoid, but I fear a Santorum in the general who suddenly becomes disciplined, keeps his psychoness under wraps and wins.

    Talk me down, please.

he might be considered personally  likable, but his words sure aren't. right now it is all about the right wing nut base. the genberal election is a whole new ball game

This would be compared to Obama's 83% approval among Democrats.

Santorum gets a fairly large approval bump simply for the fact that he's not Mitt Romney.

We need to go all out anyway, to take back the House and as many downballot slots as possible.
However, Santorum has several achilles heels. Mitt's going to take a major bite out of him. There will be blood.

    •  I agree in a way (4+ / 0-)

Santorum and his wife look like a 1950's Leave it to Beaver kind of family.  His sweater vests, her adoring glances, the sick child, the family of 20 or whatever it is.....makes him into the Ken doll, family guy who low info voters/independents might just eat up.   Sure we know he is insane, but how many voters really look into candidates records?  Not much.  They vote for the guy that makes them feel are warm inside and Rick "Apple Pie" Santorum is good candidate for that.

I want him to be crushed now by Romney!  What is wrong with you, Willard...use your billions for something productive!

No GOP candidate is too stupid or crazy to win the presidency.  We should accept that as established fact after 8 years of Dubya.
