  •  Heh, I got my first speeding ticket (7+ / 0-)

the Saturday before the 2008 election and I had an Obama sticker on my car. I'd like to blame the officer's politics for pulling me over, but I guess you can't argue with a 74 in a 60. D'oh.

Was traveling with my daughter (Mrs. Heavy Foot) to pick up my car in early 2008. Just off the thruway, hit the yellow light at the nearby intersection, and ran into a speed trap. One of six cars pulled over. After we sat there for almost 15 minutes before an officer came over, took her information, and returned to his patrol car off the road. All she talked about was how mad her husband was going to be. The officer came back and just gave her a warning about the yellow light and future safe driving. In parting, he commented about her cool, magnetic Obama sign in the side window with a smile. She had actually speeded up to make the yellow signal and I thought she was going to get a ticket. Obama sticker, beautiful, upset young woman, or grumpy, old man in passenger seat who knew the officer; but a warning. Doubt I had anything to do with not receiving the ticket. Was daughter or President Obama.
